![]() The wagon stops and the two elven guards from the town turn to the back of the carriage. One month goes by with little changing between the days. They are finally going to Dolten where they can live among people like themselves. The days are long and hot, and the nights are short and cold, but nothing matters to them. Vim and Violet load onto the wagon and begin their journey. They find the guard at the nearest Tavern and are told that the payment is accepted and to gather enough food for themselves for two months. ![]() Vim and his mother head out one last time into the market to fetch the guards and request that they finally are ready to leave and start their new life in Dolten. More time passes and they have finally saved enough to travel. ![]() As the years go by, a silent rage boils inside Vim as he and Violet attempt to save enough coin to buy the supplies and security needed to traverse the badlands. If one was hard to look at, Dolten would be their paradise. Races of all kind live together without judgement and torment of the imperial elves. Vim would hear his mother tell story after story about how Dolten is filled with people like them. Violet left to raise him alone had always told him to grit his teeth and bare with the pain for soon they will have enough coin to move to Dolten. Being beaten physically was nothing new to Vim, in fact he preferred the physical pain as it helped distract him from the nights where he lie awake wondering why his skin is tainted blue and why his head was cursed with the horns of his bastard father. The imperial elves who looked upon his pale blue skin, and protruding miss shapen horns were not only repulsed, but furious. Born in the badlands to his dark elf mother Violet and tiefling father Vlad, Vim was subjected to vitriolic hate. Vim, Hated by the imperial elves for his bastard blood has lived his early life shunned, hated, and ashamed of his horns and skin that have brought him such pain.
